JDC Systems Innovations: The One-stop Shop for Tailored Digitalization Need
According to Jose Cruz—a renowned business thought leader and the founder of JDC Systems Innovations—the underlying problem is two-fold: the lack of adequate technical support and over-hyped ERP technologies. He explains that even before the COVID-19 situation, there was an acute shortage of proper support necessary to implement a digital solution. Now, this issue is coming to the forefront more prominently due to the need for rapid virtualization. The off-the-shelf ERP solutions without proper user support are pushing organizations to change their business process according to the hardware or software. Additionally, there are also vaporware software solutions that are not living up to their advertised commitments. “Businesses are, as a result, giving up on a digital endeavor and going back to their old Frankenstack, i.e., the use of multiple applications for running a business,” adds Cruz.
However, Cruz believes that an organization’s choice doesn’t always have to be between vaporware and a patchwork ERP system; there are other economic alternatives as well. And this is precisely what JDS Systems brings to the table. “When it comes to smaller companies, you’re always dealing with one person with many hats. So, our aim is to try and make that person’s job much more productive through digitalization efforts,” enthuses Cruz, CEO of JDC Systems. This has been the company’s mantra since 1987. And today, JDC Systems is driving their digital transformation initiatives further ahead by providing reasonably-priced ERP solutions—whether that includes hardware, software, or networking—to its clients.
But, before elaborating on how JDC Systems helps its clients virtualize their work environment into a modern workspace, Cruz first explains what the conventional idea in this space was: “Previously, businesses used to either alter the business processes in favor of the existing ERP solution or change the ERP tool altogether if they hit a dead end with it.” JDC Systems and its team of experts flip this traditional script by taking a requirement-based approach in developing the ERP solutions. The company starts by digging deeper into its clients’ business, workflows, and operational processes and finds what is best for that particular organization. Once that is done, JDC Systems performs a complete configuration of the clients’ IT infrastructure.
Additionally, JDC Systems ensures that its ERP solutions are highly agile, customizable, and adaptable to changing business needs, thereby making the final product future-proof. “That’s how we ensure our clients are able to operate in the near future and beyond,” shares Cruz. JDC Systems also offers the necessary training to help its clients efficiently utilize the new ERP system and be efficient.

At this juncture, Cruz shares two of the many client success stories that his company has helped script over the years. In one instance, a client was using multiple ERP services to run their business, and eventually, they hit a snag. JDC Systems helped the concerned client by completely transforming their operational processes. Streamlining all the workflows, JDC Systems made those processes dynamic and customizable. As a result, the client could easily add new products, pricing, and services to their systems and change the workflow according to their needs.
In another instance, a client was struggling with its existing ‘bill of material’ software. Considering the client had multiple elements and associated attributes to consider before customizing a product for its end-customers, the sheer volume of data undermined the client’s bill of material’s efficiency and performance. JDC Systems helped the client by building an ERP solution that would bring the attributes down to a handful and essential ones, with proper nomenclature for each of those. When the client interfaced with JDC Systems’ solution with their existing bill of material software, it helped them mitigate the hassle of using an off-the-shelf product, bringing better efficiency.
These robust and illustrated capabilities have undoubtedly helped JDC Systems to meet the requirements of its clients time and again, and carve a niche of its own. So much so, Cruz notes that many of JDC Systems’ partnerships have stood the test of time by several decades. Moving forward with such a poised grace, JDC Systems is now looking to leverage its rightfully-earned market reputation in the U.S. to move into the international spectrum. “We are now planning to take our services and solutions on a global scale and help companies even outside the U.S. to take advantage of digitalization,” concludes Cruz.
